Activities and Work Package

SUNRISE objectives will be reached through an integrative approach that will comprise ten work packages dedicated to:

  • WP1: An efficient public-private partnership and professional project management organizing the public-private partnership with the flexibility needed for a long project in a fast evolving domain ;
  • WP2: Provide optimized genetic resources to decipher and further validate the mechanisms involved in oil yield stability under water constraints ;
  • WP3: Benefit from high throughput and innovative technologies ti describe the genetic polymorphism ;
  • WP4: Phenotype at different scales – from field plot to molecular characterization - sunflower hybrids for the oil yield stability and related traits under water constraints ;
  • WP5: Plant and crop forward and reverse modeling ;
  • WP6: Identification of genetic and molecular factors involved in mechanisms underlying oil yield stability of sunflower hybrids under water constraints ;
  • WP7: Provide the partners with bioinformatics tools and information technology expertise to deal with large and heterogeneous data set ;
  • WP8: Analyze the socio-economical impacts of the targeted sunflower ideotypes ;
  • WP9: Validation and fine characterization of loci involved in environmental adaptation of hybrids ;
  • WP10: Apply the tools and the knowledge in ongoing breeding programs, dissemination and training of the outcome
